Rebranding a boring product

Months before this project, I purchased a package of Himalayan sea salt at Dollar Tree. The website on the packaging didn't work, some of the copy was suspect, and the branding was incredibly amateur. Where one company saw an opportunity to cut design corners, I envisioned a diverging path for the brand and used the basic information to develop salt packaging that I would want to buy.

WHO WOULD BUY THIS?

One way I increased potential consumer interest was to create mascots—one for each flavor. Each Salt Babe has a different color story, and pairs beautifully with the color you can’t get away from in the salt mines—salmon pink.
